Local architect, Susan Desko was first contacted by the home's previous owners to design a contemporary masterpiece in Sun Valley. Construction was underway, excavating 35,000 cubic ft of soil, installing steel beams, incorporating a gabion retaining wall system of native river rock, and building a cantilevered roof-top pool that holds 233 tons of water alone. Funds dwindled and the house was left vacant for several years when Mr. Gary Engman of Restoration Lumber Co. came along and envisioned a space to showcase his offerings and host gatherings for friends and family, hunters, polo players, and everyone in between. The house quickly earned the name "Cowboy Spaceship" due to its eclectic design, spaceship like features, and Mr. Engman's affinity for horses and the west.
